Anne-Marie Blink

Since 1996, Anne-Marie Blink has been performing a special type of vocal theatre, incorporating a diverse range of musical styles and cultural influences, including everything from French Chansons (Edith Piaf), Argentin Tangos (Carlos Gardel and Astor Piazzolla), to Gypsy music, Blues (Bessie Smith) and Jazz (Billie Holiday).
Anne-Marie has been focused on the strength of women and voice since 1997 and was also the conductor of the female-choir “Elles” (2000). She has established community choirs throughout the Netherlands and in Belgium and France, where she gives diverse workshops for children, students and adults.
Her studies include Music School on the Conservatorium of Groningen (1982), Singing in Methodics and Didactics on the Conservatory of Groningen (1983), Mastercourse in French Classical Music, Faure, Duparc, Poulenc (1995), Gypsy music-Training in International School in Bystre (Czech,1999). From 2000-2002 she participated in trainings for vocalists and voice teachers organized by the Netherlands-based foundation Stemwerk which she co-led for more than 12 years.
Through Stemwerk, she helped to develop work based on primitive voice and body in contexts for children, singers and choirs. Since 2000, she has also led singing trainings and workshops for employees at various Dutch Ministeries, and the corporation Ernst & Young, among others.
In 2005, Anne-Marie Blink started the Andere Klank Foundation through which she now gives individual and group trainings in Amsterdam and abroad. http://www.andereklank.nl
