Armand van den Hamer: Armand continues his research here for the second year. The solo, inspired by science fiction, is about a cosmonaut on a far away space shuttle who observes strange deviations in his environment that cause the demolition of the system on which he is depending for his self esteem and identity. The movement vocabulary where Armand is working on, is between mime and abstract movement, inspired by aspects like gravity, rotation, physical decline. It is all about the experience of a dream state. Armand is also exploring the scenography, that should reflect the progress of time, the location in the space, the feeling of weightlessness, all layers of emotion that are in the piece, and the philosophical idea that nothing ever stands still.
