danscentrumjette
Since 1997, danscentrumjette functions as a transversal platform, unique in its design and artistic vision. Using dance as a universal point of connection, danscentrumjette is rather a house than an institution: a place where different groups meet in the kitchen, the mezzanine, in conversations at the coffee table, during workshops, talks, residencies or work sessions. Located in Molenbeek, a neighbourhood with more than 130 nationalities, it offers training for professional and amateur dancers, events, performances, screenings, family jams, symposiums, kids classes and rehearsal space. DCJ’s mission is to encourage, support, and disseminate research, creation, and training in contemporary dance and related art forms. It fosters cross-pollination by offering diverse programs in research, creation, education, and presentation collaborating with schools, community centres, the health sector, youth theatres, socio-cultural organisations and the neighbourhood.
