Theatre Technique(s) class are on Monday evenings, organised in different modules across the year. These are technical classes building on skills rooted in theatre and physical theatre practices.
Each module focuses on a different area: ensemble work, stage presence, and voice and text.
These practical classes are designed to build or refine technical skill and support performers in developing tools that can be adapted to a range of contemporary performance approaches. The training also explores how these tools can be applied within post-dramatic performance contexts. We work without shoes and in confortable clothes.
Participants are welcome to sign up for single modules or multiple modules. Drop-in attendance can also be considered, depending on availability.
These classes are led by Giulia Vitiello, created drawing from 15 years of experience in theatre and performance practices. Giulia worked and trained across different countries, institutions and independent spaces particularly in Italy, England, and Belgium.
This has shaped a practice influenced by a range of physical, technical, and dramaturgical approaches, including but not limited to Lecoq, Grotowski, Pazin, Commedia dell’arte and mask practices as well as an extensive experience in post-dramatic performance practices and applied theatre.
Giulia is also giving private/company classes and coaching on creations/researches upon request.
